Defending champions Hearts of Oak were bundled out of the ongoing MTN FA Cup following a 1-0 loss to Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Dawu-based club got the early lead in the 9th minute through red-hot Agyenim Boateng, who pounced on a howler from Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Richmond Ayi to score the first and only goal off the game.

The Phobians got chances off their own Salifu, Baafi but all were nullified by the Dreams FC goalkeeper.

In the dying embers of the game, the host were awarded a penalty that was missed by Benjamin Yorke only for the referee to re-award it after replays showed the goalkeeper had step off his line only for Samuel Inkoom to miss the second penalty again.

This will be the first time in two years that Hearts of Oak have missed out on the quarter-finals after back-to-back trophies in the competition.
