Nigeria will face Ivory Coast in the semi-finals of this year’s WAFU B U20 Championship in Niamey this Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at the General Seyni Koutché stadium.

The confrontation of the heavyweights of African youth football is the culmination of the last four of the competition which is being played in Niger. The other semi-final in Tuesday’s other game at the Seyni Kountche stadium will see Benin take on Burkina Faso at 5 p.m. This comes after the group stage of the competition ended on Saturday after the last round of the Group B game.

Benin secured first place in Group A, which allowed them to face Burkina Faso, second in Group B after their 2-1 victory against Ghana on Saturday.

The Nigerians, who finished top of Group B, will face the Ivorians who secured second place in Group A of the tournament. The winners of the two semi-finals will qualify to represent UFOA-B at the 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Egypt will host the 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations and the four-tournament semi-finalists will qualify to represent Africa at the 2023 FIFA World Cup. The 2023 FIFA World Cup will be played in Indonesia.
