CK Akonnor has named five players from the Ghana Premier League squad in his provisional Black Stars squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.

Two players from Hearts of Oak; Afriyie Barnieh and Richard Attah were called up to the squad, followed by Asante Kotoko defender Abdul Ganiyu Ismael,  Steadfast FC (Division One) wonderkid Isahaku Fatawu and Philimon Baffour of Dreams FC

Richard Attah and Afriyie Barnieh earn their first callup after their remarkable campaign in the local league that saw them lift the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.
