Swedish club Elfsborg have secured the signing of Rufai Mohammed from Inter Allies.

IF Elfsborg has confirmed the signing of young Ghanaian center-back Rufai Mohammed from Inter Allies FC. He has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2028 season.

Expressing his excitement, Rufai said, “I am very pleased to be here. The people I have met in and around the team are fantastic and very supportive.”

Having previously trained with the U19 squad and played matches with the U21 team during a spring stint in 2023, Rufai has expressed his strong desire to return and become an important part of Elfsborg.

The environment at Elfsborg is familiar to Rufai, as he reunites with fellow Ghanaian and childhood friend Jalal Abdullai. They grew up in the same village and received football education together at Inter Allies’ academy.

Looking back on his experiences, Rufai fondly remembers his time representing Ghana’s national youth team, especially as captain during the WAFU tournament where they finished in third place.

Describing himself as tall, strong, and defensively solid, Rufai is keen to integrate into Elfsborg’s first team, expressing his eagerness to contribute positively to the team’s future.

With a forward-thinking mindset, Rufai is excited to begin his journey with Elfsborg, looking forward to making meaningful contributions both on and off the field.
