Special Competiton: Medeama 1-1 Kotoko: Medeama beat 10-man Kotoko

Asante Kotoko suffered their first defeat in the Special Competition on Thursday against Medeama, thanks to a penalty goal from Kwame Boateng.

Abass Mohammed who won the first match for Kotoko was the Villian against Medeama, he deliberately handled the ball to prevent Medeama from scoring. His plans, however, was unsuccessful as the referee spotted the incident and issued a red card before awarding a penalty to Medeama.

Kwame Boateng scored from the spot in the 35th minute to put his team in front in the first half.

Asante Kotoko fought back with ten men in the second half, Fatawu had several chances but couldn’t convert any.

Medeama will be pleased with their performance as they have just grabbed a win against one of the best teams in the country.
