Special Competition: Medeama 1-0 Kotoko: Kotoko player ratings

Asante Kotoko suffered defeat in Tarkwa against Medeama in their second game of the season thanks to Kwame Boateng 35th minute penalty.

Abass Mohammed was sent off for deliberately handling the ball and stopping the ball from entering the net, he will be regretting his decision because his action was the reason his team lost.

    Here are my player ratings:

Felix Annan – 5 – Didn’t do much in the game; went the other way in the penalty kick, always tried to restart play with his fast throws and kicks.

Sefah – 4 – Barely crossed any ball into the box and failed to link with Gyamfi on several occasions.

Amos Frimpong – 5 – Was the only outfield player that looked decent and knew what he was doing, completed some amount of passes from the back, helped coordinate the defence on some occasions.

Agyeman Badu – 4 – Was too reckless in the midfield and lucky not to collect a second yellow. He, however, stepped up his performance in the closing minutes of the game and almost assisted Fatawu.

Abass Mohammed -1- The reason his team lost today, should be punished for his actions

    K. Boahene – 3- Didn’t do anything significant in the game.

Fatawu -3- Didn’t make use of the few chances he had, stayed up front even after the red card.

Gyamfi -4- Failed to connect with Fatawu upfront and made unnecessary runs in the right wing, failed to convert a chance in the closing minutes of the first half to put his team in front.

Jordan Opoku -3- Played fairly well before he was subbed after Abass was sent off to make room for Evans.

Evans – 4 – Was brought to help protect the defensive line. Did his job fairly well but looked shaky at times.

Ganiyu -5- Was pretty good in the defence, won aerial duels and cleared out dangers on several occasions.

    Prince Acquah -3- Nothing spectacular

    Antwi – N/A

    Nyarko – N/A
