Special Competition: Hearts 2-1 Ebusua Dwarfs: Phobians back to winning ways

Hearts Oak are back to winning ways after claiming a 2-1 victory against Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kim Grant and his boys have turned this around after losing their last two games in a row. Joseph Esso scored twice before Ebusua Dwarfs snatched a consolation through Bright Luqman.

Hearts Of Oak started the game in an attacking manner, Joseph Esso opened the scoring just a few seconds after the kick-off to put his team in front.

Ebusua Dwarfs responded by pressing high and series of counterattack but couldn’t break the Hearts defence.

The visitors almost equalized in the 25th minute when their striker’s effort came off the bar.

Joseph Esso scored his second goal of the day after breaking the offside trap to round the goalkeeper before putting the ball at the back of the net.

The first half ended with Hearts fully in control of the game.

Hearts continued to dominate in the second half, the passed the ball around and made some attacking runs but failed to convert all the chances they created.

Bright Luqman scored the consolation goal in the 82nd minute.

Joseph Esso had the opportunity to register the first hat trick of the competition with a late penalty kick, but his effort was saved by the Ebusua Dwarfs goalkeeper who dived at the right direction.
