Solomon Mensah signs for Libyan club Al Suqur

Ghanaian midfielder Solomon Mensah, 31, has finalized a move to Libyan top-tier club Al Suqur SC on a short-term contract.

Mensah, who plays as a defensive midfielder, has secured a one-year agreement with the Hawks on a free transfer, valid until the conclusion of the 2023-24 football season.

The Libyan club announced the agreement on Wednesday evening, following Mensah’s successful completion of his medical examination and formalizing of the contract.

During the previous season, Mensah spent part of his time at Oman Club, contributing to their 7th place finish in the campaign.

Prior to this move, he had a one-and-a-half year tenure at Kuwaiti team Al Fahaheel SC before transferring to Oman in January of the current year.

Mensah’s earlier professional experiences include playing for Iraqi side Naft Missan, Petrojet SC in Egypt, Aswan SC, and Lebanese club Shabab Al Sahel from September 2018 to January 2022.

The industrious footballer clinched the Ghana FA Cup title with Bechem before embarking on his first overseas venture to Lebanon.
