Clubs in Germany and other European countries have refused to allow their players to travel with Ghana to COVID-19 red-listed countries like South Africa.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is the latest player that has been withdrawn from the squad. He would need to quarantine for ten days on his return from the Rainbow nation and they could miss several league matches.

The Black Stars newcomer was seeking to increase his international caps after debuting last Friday in the 1-0 win over Ethiopia in their Group opener.

The 25-year-old replaced injured Jeffrey Schlupp in the 28th minute at the Cape Coast Stadium.

His withdrawal from Ghana’s squad means a total of seven players were not released by their clubs for the second Group G qualifier.

England-based quintet, Daniel Amartey (Leicester City), Jeffrey Schlupp (Leicester City), Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace), Andrew Yiadom (Reading FC) and Baba Abdul Rahman (Reading FC) were not part of the contingent.

Rennes winger Kamal Deen Sulemana was also recalled by his French Ligue 1 out.

    Ghana’s 25-man squad in camp:

Goalkeepers: Richard Ofori, Richard Atta, Manaf Nurudeen, Lawrence Ati-Zigi

Defenders: Philemon Baffuor, Gideon Mensah, Ismail Ganiyu, Alexander Djiku, Jonathan Mensah, Samuel Ashie Quaye, Joseph Aidoo, Fatawu Mohammed

Midfielders: Mubarak Wakaso, Baba Iddrisu, Emmanuel Lomotey, Majeed Ashimeru, Fatawu Issahaku, Samuel Owusu, Yaw Yeboah

Forwards: Andre Ayew, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Joel Fameyeh, Braydon Manu, Kwame Opoku, Emmanuel Gyasi.
