Real Tamale United started the year with a 3-2 win over Kotoku Royals at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

Yussif Nurudeen’s last minute strike ensured all three points stayed in Tamale after nearly throwing away a two goal lead.

Baba Kushibo opened the scoring just seven minutes into the game for RTU.

The first half was dominated by RTU as they pressed for more goals but Kotoku Royals were resilient in defence.

Issah Kuka doubled the lead for the home side around the 60th minute with a fantastic solo run.

Kotoku Royals pulled one back a minute after RTU’s Second  through Richard Dzikoe.

Royals begun to mount incredible pressure on the host and their persistence paid off as they grabbed the equalizer.

RTU capitalized on poor defending with Nurudeen finding the winner in the last minute of regulation time.
