Richmond Tachie’s goal helps Kaiserslautern eliminate FC Cologne from DFB Pokal Cup

Richmond Tachie found the net for FC Kaiserslautern as they advanced to the next stage of the German DFB Pokal on Tuesday evening.

Tachie was one of the goal-scorers in Kaiserslautern’s 3-2 victory over Bundesliga side FC Cologne, resulting in their elimination from the competition.

The 24-year-old initiated the scoring in the 19th minute at the Fritz Walter Stadion with a shot from the edge of the box that deflected into the net.

Kenny Redondo, a Spanish midfielder, extended Kaiserslautern’s lead just two minutes into the second half.

German forward Marlon Ritter, who had assisted in the first two goals, added one of his own in the 65th minute.

Cologne’s Jan Thielman managed to pull one back shortly after, followed by a goal from seasoned forward Mark Uth, narrowing the deficit nine minutes from the final whistle.

Another German-born Ghanaian forward, Aaron Opoku, joined the match in the 66th minute, replacing Tobias Raschl.
