Asante Kotoko and former Inter Allies midfielder Richmond Lamptey has been banned from all football activities for 30 months after being found guilty of Match Fixing by the GFA Disciplinary Committee.

The player has been banned for his involvement in a match-fixing scandal during his time at his former club Inter Allies in their game against Ashantigol in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

The statement read that the player was among several players who maintained their stance that the game was competitive and they saw no evidence of match-fixing.

However, the Disciplinary Committee said the evidence gathered showed otherwise and decided to ban Richmond Lamptey and other players and officials of Inter Allies from all football-related activities for 30 months.

The ban will take effect from the 2022/23 Football season.
