Several reports are tipping WAFA coach Dr. Prosper Nartey to be the club’s next coach as it is believed Asante Kotoko will officially part ways with Mariano Barreto in the coming weeks.

Mariano Barreto submitted his end-of-season report to the management of Asante Kotoko and left the country for his holiday last week. Reports are suggesting he won’t be coming back to continue his job at Kotoko.

Kumasi-based radio station Pure FM stated that Prosper Nartey is leading the race to replace Mariano Barreto when the club parts way with the Portuguese.

A report from Pure FM suggests that Prosper Nartey has started making plans for a strong technical team ahead of his move to Asante Kotoko; the report further states that he has contacted some key individuals which include ex-Black Stars goalkeeper trainer, Nassam Yakubu to join his backroom staff.

Annor Walker and Ibrahim Tanko were also linked to the Kotoko job.
