Prosper Narteh Ogum shares vision for Kotoko as club unveil him as new head coach.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, the newly appointed coach of Asante Kotoko, has outlined his objectives, expressing his focus on creating a strong team capable of contending for championships in the future.

The former coach of West Africa Football Academy has returned to Asante Kotoko, having replaced another coach just a year ago.

During his previous tenure, Ogum successfully led Asante Kotoko to end an eight-year trophy drought by securing the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title. However, he stepped down from his position at the end of that season.

Following his departure, Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo took over as head coach but was dismissed midway through the season due to unsatisfactory results. Under interim boss Abdul Gazale, the team managed to secure a fourth-place finish.

Now, with the dissolution of the club’s board and management team, Narteh Ogum has rejoined the club, embarking on a new phase of his coaching career.

At the unveiling ceremony in Kumasi, he expressed his overwhelming excitement about this opportunity, comparing it to the joy of getting married.

Ogum emphasized his determination to assemble a formidable team capable of competing both domestically and internationally. He also expressed his strong desire to bring success back to Asante Kotoko.

As the new season approaches, the club is expected to announce new signings while some players appear to be on their way out.
