Asante Kotoko coach gave his thought on the red card incident involving midfielder Richard Boadu against Karela United in the Matchweek five of the Ghana Premier League.

Richard Boadu was sent off in the 56th minute in their game against Karela United. The midfielder’s dismissal made things for the Porcupines as they were forced to fall back and adapt a defensive mindset all throughout the game.

“I think where I stood in the technical area I saw Agadas getting the ball, but that is what I saw. Probably, the referee was closer and he saw it differently and the red card was given and there is nothing we could do”

“Only thing to do was to insert some tactical changes to make sure we could contain them in the middle of the park. We did that by bringing in Sherif Mohammed and Emmanuel Keyekeh” he added.

Richard Boadu Asante Kotoko two next games in the Ghana Premier League following his red card, but reports suggest Kotoko are considering appealing the straight red card decision as they believe a second yellow card would’ve been fair.
