    NC Special Cup Week one: Hearts, Kotoko and Ashgold off to a flying start


    The Normalization Committee’s Special Cup kicked off on Sunday the 31st of March and fans gathered all over the country to watch their favourite teams play at their various venues.

    Premier A

    Asante Kotoko grabbed a slim victory at the Baba Yara Stadium, thanks to an early goal from Abass Mohammed who scored on the 2nd minute of the game to give the porcupines an early lead.



    Ashantigold were victorious against Techiman XI wonders in Obuasi, they won 2-0 at home, thanks to goals from Shafiu Mumuni who gave his team the lead with a penalty and Salia Ouattara.

    Premier B

    Hearts of Oak grabbed a deserved win against Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday. Kojo Obeng Jnr’s second-half goal handed the Phobians a winning start into the Special Competition.



    Ebusua Dwarfs lost at home to Karela United in the opening game. Osei Baffour (pen), Diawisie Taylor were on target for Karela and Abdul Dramani for Ebusua Dwarfs.

    WAFA cruised past Liberty Professionals with a 3-1 victory, thanks to goals from Amate, Opoku and Ntim.

    Elmina Sharks held Inter Allies at Tema Sports stadium, both teams settled for a 0-0 draw.
