The Normalization Committee of Ghana Football have presented a budget of $7.2 million to the government for the Black Stars participation in the Africa Cup of Nations 2019.

If approved, it will be the highest budget approved by the government for the Black Stars for an AFCON tournament after previously approved a budget of $3.37 million back in 2017.

An increment of appearance fee was included in the new budget. Appearance fee and allowance for the players which was $100 in 2017 has been increased to $150.

There is also a change in the winning bonus for the Black Stars, the bonus was increased from $500 to $1000. The head coach Kwesi Appiah will take a double of that amount.

Ghana have already qualified for the 2019 AFCON, but they will still play their last qualifying game against Kenya next month in Ghana to decide who tops their group.
