Nations head coach, Kasim Mingle disappointed with draw against Kotoko

Nations FC’s head coach, Kassim Mingle, disappointed  his team missed out on securing all three points against Asante Kotoko.

In a gripping encounter on Sunday, October 22, 2023, the newly promoted club fought to a 2-2 draw with Kotoko at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

After the break, Mingle’s side took the lead with Amidou Diarra’s goal in the 50th minute. They held onto their advantage until the 88th minute, when Steven Mukwala leveled the score for The Porcupine Warriors.

Kotoko then surged ahead in the 92nd minute with a goal from Michael Kyei Dwamena, believing it would secure them the three points.

However, the drama was far from over. In the 104th minute, Diarra stepped up once again, this time converting a penalty to ensure a shared outcome.

Reflecting on the match, Mingle expressed his disappointment, stating to StarTimes, “I’m very sad because we should have won the game hands down. Our boys lost concentration and they punished us with that goal.”

Currently, Nations FC sits in 14th position in the league standings with 5 points. Their pending match against defending champions, Medeama, is yet to be played
