My dream is to play for Kotoko – Numancia forward Yaw Yeboah

Captain of the national U-23 side, Black Meteors, Yaw Yeboah has revealed his childhood dream to play for Asante Kotoko, a club he has been supporting since infancy.

The 22-year-old, who plays for Spanish side, CD Numancia tells Kotoko Express App of his desire to wear the red jersey of Kotoko, while admitting that the Porcupines can compete well should they qualify for Africa next season.

Yaw Yeboah, who was part of the Black Stars’ squad for the training camp in Dubai, said this after watching the Asante Kotoko beat Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday to book a ticket to the final of the Tier One cup.

“Yes, of course, that has been my dream as well because I will always come back home and one thing about me is that I remember where I am from.”

“I will definitely come back home to play for Kotoko, It has been something I have been thinking about with my family as well. I know it is something I shouldn’t be talking of now because I still have a long way to go, but I have always thought about that because I have been supporting Kotoko since I was young.”

“I have a brother who supports Hearts of Oak and I have always been arguing with him. And watching Kotoko’s good performance against Hearts also motivates me to come back one day.”

The midfielder replied in the affirmative when asked if Asante Kotoko have what it takes to compete in Africa.

“They’ve got everything,” he said. “They’ve got a fantastic coach in C.K Akonnor, who has been one of the best coaches in Ghana and Africa as well. With the team they have and players like Fatawu, who was with us in the Black Stars, I saw what he did. He delivered against Hearts of Oak with his goal and he was the best player for me so I think they can compete in Africa.”
