We must take responsibilities and improve – Kwame Bonsu

Asante Kotoko midfielder Kwame Bonsu has stated that the players must improve after managing two points out of a possible nine in the Special Competition.

The porcupines have failed to win any of their last three games, they suffered defeat on Sunday when they traveled to Obuasi to face Ashantigold.

CK Akonnor accused his players of not stepping up when it matters and questions the desire of players that complained about not getting playing time during their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Kwame Bonsu agrees with his coach as he insists that the players shouldn’t give up.

“Individually, we have to take responsibility and collectively, we have to be there to help each other, and fight to the end,” stresses Kwame Bonsu.

“We don’t have to give up. We are in tough moments, but that is part of the game. We have to stay focused so we don’t lose our heads.”

With four points adrift the top, any further slips could hamper Kotoko’s hope of securing one of the two qualification tickets of the Zone.

“We have to be tough and determined to get these points because they are very important to us. We can’t afford to be losing games. The expectations are very high so must put the past results behind to avoid losing our focus.”

Asante Kotoko will host Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday as they will look to go back to winning ways.
