The Uncle of Southampton’s star defender Mohammed Salisu has revealed why the player has rejected every single Black Stars call-up since he moved abroad.

Ghana Football Association has been trying to convince Mohammed Salisu to play for the Ghana Black Stars since his days at Valladolid, but the player has rejected every call up.

The player’s uncle Yakubu Ahmed has revealed that the player rejected the Black Stars because he was asked to pay before getting Ghana U17 Call up in the past.

“Certain coaches, Technical team and Scouts were demanding money from Mohammed Salisu to be in the final U17 squad back then. That is why he is refusing to play for Ghana” Yakubu Ahmed told Sikka FM.

Mohammed Salisu has been one of the important players for Southampton this season, his recent performance against Manchester City sparked discussion among Ghanaians as they believe he should be playing for the National team.
