Mohammed Salisu becomes first ever Ghanaian defender to score at the World Cup.

The Southampton defender scored for the first goal in Ghana’s 3-2 win over South Koreat the Education City Stadium.

The Black Stars needed three points to avoid being eliminated early and appeared to be on their way to victory after Mohammed Salisu and Kudus put Ghana up 2-0 at halftime.

Gue-Sung Cho, however, equalised with two quick goals after the break before  Mohammed Kudus scored the game-winner in the 68th minute with a well placed shot.

Ghana will play Uruguay in the  final group game. Uruguay eliminated Ghana in a very controversial quarter final clash in South Africa, 12 years ago.
