The Volta Regional Executives of MISUGHA were among national leaders and representatives from various branches of the Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MISUGHA) who paid their last respects at the funeral of the father-in-law of the union’s co-founder and National Coordinator of the Ghana Supporters Union, Alhaji Guntu. The ceremony was held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Akpafu Odomi in the Guan District of the Oti Region.
The solemn event brought together supporters’ groups and football stakeholders from across the country in a show of solidarity and respect for the influential football administrator, who continues to play a key role in mobilising support for Ghana’s national teams.
Also in attendance was the Member of Parliament for the Guan Constituency, Fred Agbenyo, who joined the gathering to commiserate with the bereaved family.
Alhaji Guntu is widely regarded as a prominent figure in Ghanaian football fandom, known for his leadership and commitment to organised fan support. As National Coordinator of the Ghana Supporters Union, he has represented supporters in engagements involving travel arrangements and fan mobilisation for the Ghana national football team at major international tournaments, including preparations towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
