    Medeama SC beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko 2-0 in Kumasi at the Baba  Yaya Sports Stadium.

    Jonathan Sowah scored the opening goal in the 15th minute  to put Medeama ahead. Kotoko struggled to create any decent  chances as the defence of Medeama were resolute,The mauves and yellows held on to the lead  going into the break. The first half saw Medeama pushing Kotoko to their half and attacking for more goals.In the second half, Kotoko pressed forward in search of an equalizer, but still couldn’t penetrate the defence of Medeama.

    Appau brought down a Medeam player in the penalty box to give Medeama a penalty.

    Vincent Atingah made it 2-0 from a spot kick  in the 78th minute. Tthe defender has scored 5 times this season from penalties.

    Medeama held on for an impressive victory with kotoko mounting pressure in the later stages of the game.

    Kotoko  have dropped to the seventh place in the league table, six points behind leaders Aduana Stars.

    Medeama, on the other hand, have moved up to fourth place, just three points behind the leaders, and have boosted them in their quest for the tittle.
