Head coach of Legon Cities has promised fans that, they will not be relegated

Legon Cities coach, Maxwell Konadu, has emphasized the importance of their upcoming Premier League match against Samartex, stating that it is a must-win for his team.

After suffering a 3-1 defeat to relegation-threatened King Faisal at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

Legon Cities find themselves in a challenging situation. Abdul Latif’s two goals and Baba Yahaya’s splendid strike secured the victory for King Faisal, while Ebenezer Armegah’s consolation goal for Cities was in vain.

This loss has pushed them down to the 11th position in the league standings with 43 points, leaving them deeply embroiled in the relegation battle.

Konadu fully understands the significance of their final league game against Samartex for their survival in the top flight. In an interview with StarTimes, he stated, “We will do everything within our power to defeat Samartex. ”

“We will train rigorously and prepare extensively. It’s the last game of the season, and we will give our all to secure the victory, no matter what.”

He added, “We are determined not to be relegated.”
