Asante Kotoko secured passage into the next stages of the MTN FA Cup after an emphatic 3-1 win against Division two side Thunderbolt FC.

The Porcupines had to work hard to earn their win after the home team proved stubborn in the first half of the game.

The first goal came from Evans Adomako who lobbed the goalkeeper with his shoulder after receiving a good cross from Sarfo Taylor.

Thunderbolt FC, however, equalized almost immediately after Adomako’s opener; Napoleon Boateng was unmarked inside the Kotoko penalty area and heads home a great cross from a free-kick.

Nevertheless, The Porcupines came strong in the second half as Evans Adomako picks Samuel Frmpong’s pass to score his second of the game and put Kotoko in front.

Emmanuel Gyamfi scored the last goal to make sure Asante Kotoko win the game convincingly.

Asante Kotoko are now in the last 16 stages of the competition after the 3-1 win against Thunderbolt FC.
