Mamelodi Sundowns clinch CAF Women’s Champions League tittle

Mamelodi Sundowns asserted their dominance in African women’s football by securing a commanding 3-0 victory over SC Casablanca in the CAF Women’s Champions League final, held at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo, Cote d’Ivoire.

The match showcased Sundowns’ superiority, with a flawless tournament run leading to a record-breaking win without conceding a goal.

Tholakele Refilwe, the tournament’s top goalscorer, calmly converted a penalty in the 21st minute to give Sundowns the lead. Boitumelo Rabale extended the advantage with a clinical finish from the edge of the box.

Despite their efforts, SC Casablanca struggled to break through Sundowns’ unwavering defense. Tholakele scored again in the 78th minute, securing the victory for Sundowns and their second CAF Women’s Champions League title.

The triumph, lifting the trophy without conceding, highlights Sundowns’ defensive prowess and overall dominance. Celebrations ensued as Sundowns lifted the trophy in front of an enthusiastic crowd, reclaiming the title they had relinquished last year.
