I am looking to improve individual players – CK Akonnor

Ghana Black Stars coach CK Akonnor has revealed that his goal is to improve individual players in the Ghana national team which will eventually affect the team results.

While talking to Citi TV, the former Kotoko manager revealed that individual improvement will affect the team play and will eventually affect the team as a whole.

I’m looking forward to improving individual players and improve the team as a result,” he told Citi TV.

“[Once] the team improves, it affects their play. That is my goal. So every time I am thinking about who can fit into certain positions and how we can play. Overall I just want to improve the team.”

With most of the players set to return to football after the coronavirus break, the ex-Black Stars captain revealed he has been in touch with his players.

“I’ve been trying to stay in touch with the [Black Stars] players while they are at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We usually chat via video calls. I also read lots of books to keep myself ready,” said Akonnor.
