Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca impressed with Fatawu Issahaku’s debut display.

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has praised the performance of Ghanaian young talent Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in the match against Hull City.

Issahaku made a significant impact coming off the bench during his debut, nearly scoring with a shot that hit the post late in the game.

Despite Leicester’s defeat at Filbert Way, where Hull City secured victory with a Liam Delap goal, Maresca believes that the international break has arrived at an opportune moment for players like Issahaku to acclimate.

Maresca commented, “Issahaku is the type of player who excels in one-on-one situations. He possesses quality, but he only joined us three days ago, and the season is quite lengthy.”

He added, “The lineup will vary from week to week depending on the match and the players’ condition. Some days, they perform better, while on others, they might feel a bit fatigued, which is entirely normal.”

“Several players will be representing their national teams. I believe the break is beneficial because it allows us to rejuvenate and regain our energy after a demanding run of seven games in a short span.”

Issahaku, a 19-year-old talent, is currently on a season-long loan from Sporting Lisbon.
