Asante Kotoko are still in talks with representatives of Abdul Ganiyu over a contract extension that will see the player remain at the club, Sahara Football understands.

Earlier reports suggest that the defender have parted ways with Asante Kotoko but Sahara Football can confirm the player and his representatives are still negotiating with the club.

Abdul Ganiyu refused to comment specifically on the progress of the negotiations as he insists he is focusing on the national camp with the Black Stars B.

“I am not aware of what’s ongoing; that’s to the best of my knowledge. I am with the national team and that is where I am concentrating on” he told Sahara Football.

Sahara Football understands Asante Kotoko will try to keep the player but will be willing to move on if negotiations become too difficult.
