Accra hearts of oak narrowly escapes defeat as Caleb Amankwah’s 88th-minute header secures a point against their archrivals, Asante Kotoko.

Asante Kotoko played their first league match of the season with their bitter rivals hoping to secure a win to placate their fans for their early exit in the CAF champions league. The current league champions dominated the game from the start. Stringing in beautiful passes and penetrating the Hearts of oak defense at will. Kotoko failed to find the net after creating and missing many glorious chances in the first half. They scored the opener in the 59th minute with a goal from Yussif Mubarik.

With just two minutes of full time to play, Hearts of oak grabbed the equalizer from Caleb Amankwah. The never say die boys came back from behind to salvage a point like in their previous encounter with what Accra great Olympics in the Ga mashie derby. Hearts have picked just two points out of a possible nine. The phobians have managed to score two goals this season, courtesy their defenders thus Konadu Yiadom and Caleb Amankwah. Coach Samuel Boadu is winless this season and continues to be under immense pressure.
