Kwesi Appiah tells Kotoko fans not to put pressure on Prosper Ogum to win trophies.

Former coach of the Black Stars and member of the Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee (IMC), Kwesi Appiah, has advised fans of the club to be patient with the newly appointed coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Ogum, who previously led the team to victory in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, was unveiled in a conference room at the Baba Yara stadium on Monday, as the club gears up for the upcoming season.

According to Kwesi Appiah, the IMC’s objective is to build a strong and competitive team. He emphasized the importance of not putting undue pressure on the new coach to win trophies immediately, especially considering the changes in the team’s composition. Appiah believes that developing the best potential of the squad will require some time.

He also revealed that the goal is for the team to become highly competitive in the second year under Ogum’s guidance.

Prosper Narteh Ogum takes over as the head coach of Kotoko after the departure of Seydou Zerbo, who was dismissed due to poor results.

Kotoko aims to bounce back from their performance last season, where they finished fourth on the Ghana Premier League table, trailing behind Medeama SC who were crowned as league champions.
