The Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko believes the club would have won the Ghana Premier League if they played their home games at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Baba Yara Stadium was closed at the beginning of the Ghana Premier League season due to some renovation works at the Stadium in Kumasi. The closure forced Kotoko to pick the Accra Sports Stadium as its home grounds and later moved to the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

“If we had played at the Baba Yara Stadium, we could have won the league with 10 points gap because, at some point, we were leading Hearts of Oak with four points but we thank God we didn’t disgrace ourselves considering all the disadvantages.” Nana Yaw Amponsah told Happy FM

Asante Kotoko have traveled more than any other team in the Ghana Premier League this season, fans believe Hearts of Oak won the league because they played a majority of their games at their home grounds in Accra.
