Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum disappointed with draw against Karela

Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, expressed disappointment with their 1-1 draw against Karela United on Sunday.

The match, held at the Baba Yara Stadium on October 1, 2023, did not meet Ogum’s expectations.

The Porcupine Warriors conceded an early goal in the 9th minute, scored by former Kotoko player Adomako Wiredu, who outpaced Ansu to beat Danlad in the goalpost.

This early setback put Kotoko on the back foot, prompting them to push hard for an equalizer. Their efforts eventually paid off in the 91st minute, when substitute Baba Yahaya secured a point for the home team.

Ogum expressed to StarTimes after the match that given the chances created and missed, especially in the second half, the result did not align with what he had anticipated.

He said: “If you look at the chances we missed and the way we played right from the blast of the whistle to the end, especially in the second half”.

“The chances we created, we missed, that wasn’t the result I was expecting”

Kotoko will face Accra Lions in their next GPL encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.
