    Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh explains how he selected his new Captains

    The new Head Coach of Asante Kotoko Prosper Narteh has revealed the criteria for being a captain in his Kotoko team and want went into his decision to pick the club’s new leaders.



    Asante Kotoko announced Abdul Ganiyu as the club’s new captain following the departure of Felix Annan a few weeks ago. Razak Abalora and Mudasiru were named assistant captains.

    “The first is the performance on the field of play; if you look at Ganiyum he is with the Black Stars, he played so well last season. If you look at his leadership qualities, his ability to bring players together, his ability to communicate to them the culture of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, he is fantastic” Prosper Narteh said.

    He also revealed the qualities of Razak Abalora and Mudasiru Salifu that made him pick them as the assistant captains of the club.

    “Similarly if you look at Abalora and Mudasiru, they all possess these qualities.  When they have the armband on the field they can lead very well and protect the image of the club” he added
