Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh had a lot to say when he was asked to rate the performance of Stephen Amankona after their 1-1 draw against Aduana Stars in Kumasi on Sunday.

Stephen Amankona played the full 90 minutes as Asante Kotoko fail to win at the Baba Yara Stadium.

“I don’t want to put any numbers (rating /10) out there, all I can tell you, and all we can tell him is that; he is a good player, he needs to back up his game,” Narteh said after the game

“It is not about the player, he is a fine player and I admire him while he was at Berekum Chelsea”

“When I was at WAFA, he played against us and he was the tormentor in chief for Berekum Chelsea”

“But the problem of some of you (media), when you are doing your analysis you look at the lines of sensationalism and emotions, we don’t look at the tactical ability of these players”

“Sometimes it is because you are being influenced or because you like the player. When you do that, it makes the job of the coach very difficult”

“Some of you pick players, recommend them, and say they are good players”

“Football is about skill, technique, strength, and speed. So we (media) need to help so we can improve on our game”

Prosper Narteh concluded by saying the player played well against WAFA and against Aduana Stars on Sunday.

“Against WAFA he played well today he played well; he created those chances that he could have scored”
