Kano Pillars pitch is the main issue – Kotoko coach Kjetil Zachariassen

Asante Kotoko coach Kjetil Zacahariassen has expressed his concerns of the nature of the football pitches in Nigeria, the Norwegian believes the Astro-turf pitch will be an issue for his side.

Kotoko will travel to Kano in Nigeria to face Kano Pillars in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League at the Sani Abacha Stadium and the coach talked about the pitch ahead of the game.

”Nigeria we know quite well but it’s the ground, the AstroTurf they play on, so we will be digging deep into that, what type of field we gonna play, so that will be the main issue so we are preparing for it,” Zachariassen told Oyerepa FM.

Asante Kotoko played their first pre-season game on Sunday against Rahimo FC where the Porcupines came out 2-1 winners. They will travel to Nigeria next week to face Kano Pillars, the second leg will take place in Kumasi two weeks later.
