Ghana’s Joseph Paintsil starts pre-season with Genk.

Black Stars winger, Joseph Paintsil has returned to Belgium to commence pre-season training with KRC Genk. The talented player joined his teammates on Monday as they continue their preparations for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

Paintsil and his fellow players underwent demanding drills and football exercises to enhance their fitness levels. The Belgian giants have a series of friendly matches lined up before the start of the new season.

In the previous season, Genk came agonizingly close to winning the Belgium league title, only to concede a goal in the final minute of their match against Royal Antwerp, who eventually became the champions.

Meanwhile, Paintsil’s future at the Cegeka Arena is uncertain as English clubs have shown interest in signing the 25-year-old.

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Paintsil had an exceptional season, contributing 30 goals for the Belgian giants. During Monday’s training, he was joined by his compatriot, Christopher Bonsu Baah, a newly signed winger.
