Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew has heaped massive praise on the club’s hierarchy for trusting him when very little persons did at the time.

The versatile striker embarked on a loan move from Swansea City to Crystal Palace but it didn’t go as planned until his involvement with the national side, Ghana at the African Cup of Nations set the tone to what would be a stellar season.

Ayew has since not disappointed in the interim after he was handed a three-year contract by the club, scoring 9 in 31 on course to hit double figures, which will be his season-best.

“I’m grateful to the whole club, Roy Hodgson, assistant Ray Lewington, chairman Steven Parish, and sporting director Dougie Freedman.

“They are the ones who trusted me and had the belief in me to sign me permanently,” he adds. “Since I came to this football club, they have been so supportive and so good to me. The only thing I could do was just try to go on the pitch, perform, and do my best for the team. Thank God, things have changed a bit for me this season.” he told SkySports

Ayew’s nine Premier League goals have lots of memories surrounding it, helping his side to 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in August. Also hitting two goals against Arsenal, a masterpiece against West Ham in December in what would be a goal of the season contender as well as other vital goals for Roy Hodgson’s side.

Ayew entered into the record books overtaking former Ghanaian and Leeds forward Tony Yeboah to become the highest-scoring native with 25 goals, such a young achievement for the young man enjoying the form of his life.

The Ghanaian forward will be looking to hit double figures, help his side to a European ticket still up for grabs.
