Asante Kotoko coach Johnson Smith has stated that the attitude of the players didn’t help the club in the just-ended football season.

Mariano Barreto earlier stated that the attitude of some players caused disruption in the Kotoko squad and his biggest mistake was not sidelining those players earlier.

Assistant coach Johnson Smith’s comments correlate with that of Barreto as he also believes that the attitude of the players did not help the team.

“The attitude of the players towards training at a point in time didn’t help us, especially after losing to Hearts of Oak. I needed to speak with them, advise some of them to approach training with seriousness” Johnson Smith told Westgold Radio.

Mariano Barreto earlier stated that some players were acting unprofessionally on the training grounds.

“If we lose a game and some players come to the training grounds to laugh and make jokes, then something strange is happening,” Barreto told Nhyira FM

Asante Kotoko ended the season trophyless and will miss out on the African Competitions next season.
