The FIFA U15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues officially kicked off in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday, January 24, 2026, with all four matchday one matches played at the McDan La Town Park to mark the beginning of the maiden edition of the competition.

The opening match saw Ridge City Women secure a 2–1 victory over Ideal Ladies. Attention then shifted to the second fixture, where Cabfix Ladies U15 recorded the biggest win of the day, thrashing Ga West Ladies 9–0.

Jessica Benni was the standout performer, scoring five goals, while Jessica Dzamesi contributed a hat-trick and Rose Amakie Sebbi added one to complete a dominant performance.

The third match ended with Epiphany Next Gen producing a convincing 3–0 win over Accra Ladys, while the final fixture between Rock Ladies and Dangme South Ladies finished in a goalless draw.

All four matches on the day were officiated by the Catch Them Young referees, reflecting the competition’s emphasis on development at all levels.

FIFA Technical Expert Thuba Bridgette Sibandda was actively involved in the opening ceremony, performing the ceremonial kickoff with Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Vice Chairman Gabriel Godwin Kwao before, in line with the government’s Period-Free Policy, assisting in the presentation of Softcare sanitary pads to the players. The teams, dressed in customised orange FIFA U15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues T-shirts, later posed for photographs, after which she stayed on to observe the matches with officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and GARFA.

The atmosphere at the venue was further enlivened by rhythmic jama songs, as members of the Ghana Supporters Union and supporters of the participating clubs created a lively and colourful backdrop to the day’s action.

The FIFA U15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues form part of FIFA’s Women’s Football Development Programme, aimed at strengthening grassroots participation, talent identification, and long-term growth of women’s football in Ghana.
