James Ampofo scores brace on Raufoss IL debut in Norway.

On his debut for Raufoss IL’s first team, James Ampofo achieved a remarkable feat by scoring two goals in their significant triumph against Sogndal IL in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old forward, who recently moved from Greek club AO Episkopi Rethymnou to Raufoss on a free transfer, came off the bench to secure a convincing 3-0 victory at the NAMMO stadium.

Ampofo’s outstanding performance for the U19 team, where he netted five goals in just two games, convinced the manager to provide him with an opportunity in the senior squad.

Despite spending previous matches on the bench, Ampofo finally made his debut on Wednesday, entering the game as a substitute in the 68th minute.

Formerly a Ghana U20 player, Ampofo found the back of the net in the 75th and 90th minutes, in addition to Markus Johnsgard’s opening goal, effectively securing Raufoss’ win.

On the opposing side, former Great Olympics defender Jamal Deen Haruna played the entire match for the home team.

Likewise, former Ghana youth international Isaac Twum contributed 62 minutes for Sogndal before being replaced by Per-Egil Flo.
