Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer Nana Yaw Amponsah has revealed that he has no regrets about sacking former club Coach Maxwell Knoadu at the beginning of the season.

Maxwell Konadu was relieved of his duties after Kotoko’s poor start to the season, Johnson Smith and Abdul Gazelle were in charge before the club announced the signing of Mariano Barreto.

“I won’t look down on anyone, but I have no regrets sacking Maxwell Konadu,” Nana Yaw Amponsah told Asempa FM

He also backed his decision by stating that Kotoko’s winning percentage under Mariano Barreto was higher than the percentage they registered under Maxwell Konadu.

“Compare our winning percentage under both coaches and you will see the percentage under Mariano Barreto is higher” he added.

However, Nana Yaw Amponsah refuses to comment on Barreto’s future at the clubs after reports suggest the Portuguese might leave at the end of the season.

“At the end of the season, we will access the situation and decide what is best for the club” he added.
