Chairperson of the Black Queens B Management Committee and Senior Technical Advisor to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, paid a special visit to the general meeting of the Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MISUGHA) as preparations intensify for the Black Princesses’ crucial FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa.

The visit formed part of strategic efforts to energize supporter groups and deepen fan engagement ahead of Sunday’s third-round, first-leg encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Addressing members at the meeting, Hon. Betty Krosbi Mensah underscored the importance of unwavering support for Ghana’s women’s national teams, describing the Black Princesses as a symbol of national pride and the future of women’s football in the country. She encouraged supporters to turn up in their numbers and create an electrifying atmosphere capable of inspiring the team to victory as they chase qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

Hon. Betty also used the opportunity to reassure the supporters of government’s commitment to fan participation at major tournaments. Her comments followed recent remarks by Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, who revealed that government is considering plans to send Ghanaian supporters to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico through a national fundraising drive.

According to Mr. Adams, a special fundraising committee has been set up, with the number of supporters expected to travel dependent on the funds raised. Hon. Betty reaffirmed this position, assuring supporters of the government’s willingness to facilitate their transportation should the fundraising initiative succeed.

The gathering doubled as a rehearsal session, with supporters fine-tuning chants and coordinating plans to ensure a strong, unified presence at the stadium on matchday.

With anticipation steadily building, the Black Princesses now turn their full focus to Sunday’s must-win clash against South Africa, buoyed by growing support both on and off the pitch.
