Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have strongly denied reports suggesting the club failed to pay striker Hamza Issah for three months, insisting that the player remains under a valid and legally binding contract.
In an official statement, the club dismissed the allegations of persistent unpaid wages, explaining that while discussions were held with the player and his representatives, there was no material breach that could justify a unilateral termination under FIFA regulations. Management confirmed that they met Issah on two separate occasions and acted in good faith to address all concerns raised.
The statement follows earlier threats by the player’s camp in December to terminate the contract over alleged salary arrears. However, the Phobians maintain that the situation has been handled professionally and that constructive dialogue with the forward is ongoing.
Issah, who has scored four goals in 20 league appearances this season, was recently linked with a possible trial in South Africa, sparking speculation about his availability for the club’s crucial clash against rivals Asante Kotoko. Hearts of Oak have, however, played down those reports.
The club also criticized South African side Siwele Football Club for what they described as an unauthorized approach to the player without informing Hearts of Oak. According to the club, such actions amount to player inducement and interference with an existing contractual relationship.
Hearts of Oak reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism, transparency, and the protection of contractual stability, urging supporters and the public to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information.
