Head coach of Gold Stars, Michael Osei pleased with his side’s performance despite defeat to Olympics

Michael Osei, the head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, commended his team for their performance despite their narrow loss to Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

The match provided an entertaining spectacle for fans, with both teams delivering impressive performances in each half.

Annor Walker’s team secured the victory with a superb goal from forward Michael Osei, who skillfully struck the ball into the net in the 48th minute after noticing Gold Stars’ goalkeeper Yaw Osei was out of position.

Olympics held onto this lead to clinch their first win of the season.

Although the defeat was a bitter pill to swallow, Coach Michael Osei acknowledged his players’ efforts at the end of the match.

He told StarTimes, “Let me say to my guys, better luck next time. It was a game that we controlled very well in all departments.”

He continued, “…But all the same, I will congratulate the guys. They played well today. However, it is very unfortunate that we lost the game 1-0, which is quite painful for the day.”

Gold Stars will face RTU in their next game, which will be hosted at their home grounds at Bibiani.
