Ghana Black Stars coach Otto Addo was asked why left-back Baba Rahman was omitted from his latest World Cup Qualifiers squad against Mali and Central African Republic.

He revealed that the player insisted that he isn’t ready to play for the Ghana Black Stars now and wants to be stay out for the time being.

“I have seen his performances, at the moment he is not ready to come back.” Otto Addo said

Otto Addo revealed that the criticism the player faced during the player’s last game for Ghana at the Baba Yara Stadium affected the player.

“What happened in Kumasi affected him and his family a lot”

“We would have needed him very much. I had a long talk with him, and I even wanted to fly there but he was sure he wouldn’t change his mind” he added.

Baba Rahman has had a stellar season with PAOK and helped them win the league title in the Greek league.
