Gold Fields assures fans of Medeama TNA Stadium completion come 2024

Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, is well on track to complete the Tarkwa TNA stadium by March 2024.

This timeline was officially confirmed during a media briefing organized by the foundation at the TNA Stadium on Wednesday.

Project Manager Roger Adama provided insights into the stadium’s progress, highlighting that some crucial tasks still need to be completed.

He explained, “Several tasks need to be finished before the facility can be handed over to the Municipal Assembly and the National Sports Authority.”

“The pending works include the playing pitch, external features like car parks and walkways, connections to public utilities, horticultural landscaping, the removal and reinstallation of clear sheets, the installation of floodlights, and other essential elements.”

The project was initiated three years ago and is now in its final stages of development. The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation has invested over $13 million in the project, nearing its allocated budget of $16 million.

The forthcoming completion of the TNA Stadium brings exciting prospects to the region, offering improved sports infrastructure and opportunities for community engagement. Project Manager Adama emphasized the thorough approach taken to ensure the stadium is fully prepared.

While this means a change in plans for Ghanaian champions Medeama, who had initially hoped to use the stadium for their CAF Champions League group games starting in November 2023, the stadium’s positive impact on the community and local sports remains highly anticipated.
