    Ghanaian duo,  Ernest Poku and Jayden Addai lead AZ Alkmaar to victory in UEFA Youth League final.

    Ghanaian duo,  Ernest Poku and Jayden Addai lead AZ Alkmaar to victory in UEFA Youth League final after defeating Hajduk Split.

    AZ  Alkamaar defeated Real Madrid 4-0, Barcelona 3-0, and Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 in the knockout rounds before claiming the top youth championship in Europe after trashing  Hajduk Split 5-0 in the final.

    AZ was rewarded for being the most adventurous team in the first half with a penalty goal by 17-year-old Ghanaian winger Jayden Addai in the 45th minute.

    The title was decided by three goals in nine minutes starting in the 70th minute. Ernest Poku successfully placed two right-footed shots. Mexx Meerdink, a substitute, then added two more goals.

    The men’s teams of the two clubs competing in the final were ranked No. 37 and No. 153 by UEFA, respectively, for their performance in European competitions during the previous five seasons.
