    Ghanaian duo, Kwadwo Opoku and Latif Blessing win 2022 MLS with LAFC


    Opoku was introduced in the second half of the game to help LAFC to beat Philadelphia Union on penalties to clinch the 2022 MLS title.

    Fellow Ghanaian compatriot, Latif Blessing was an unused substitute for the day.

    Kellyn Acosta opened the score line  after 28 minutes but Daniel Gazdag equalized for  Philadelphia Union midway through the second half.

    LAFC took the lead again with seven minutes remaining after Jesus Murillo finished off a Carlos Vela assist but Jack Elliot responded two minutes later to force the game into extra time.

    LAFC goalkeeper, Maxime was sent off  in extra time with Philadelphia Union going ahead four minutes into added time.

    Gareth Bale equalized just before the final whistle to send the game to penalties.

    LAFC emerged as  champions for the first time in their history after winning the shootout.
